To begin, one of our dentists will go over your medical and dental history and review any medications you are taking. Then the dentist will conduct an oral cancer screening, which involves thorough visual and digital examinations of the lymph nodes, lips, the inside of the mouth, cheek surface, and the tongue. Past the oral cancer exam, the dentist will proceed with a periodontal exam consisting of six unique measurements. An occlusal screen will detect overbite, underbite, open bite, crossbite, worn teeth, and a host of other problems regarding the condition of the bite.
